Bauxite Project ML 100044
                                      Urquhart Point

The Urquhart Bauxite Project, located approximately 5 km southwest of Weipa on Queensland’s Western Cape York Peninsula, is one of the region’s most promising bauxite deposits. Western Cape York is renowned for its high-quality, export-grade pisolite bauxite, which is widely accepted by international alumina refineries. Production is projected to commence in 2025, with an annual output of approximately 0.9 million tonnes of Direct Shipping Ore (DSO). The mine’s estimated lifespan is five years, with potential expansion southward within the current exploration lease. Cape Commodities' expertise in resource recovery, logistics, and trans-shipping ensures the Urquhart Bauxite Project is strategically positioned for success. Ensuring the triple bottom line is paramount to the project, with a strong focus on community engagement, indigenous employment, and environmental responsibility.

The Cape Commodities Urquhart Point Mineral Sands Project (UPMSP) is a strategically planned operation designed to support a three-year mine life, targeting zircon, rutile, and ilmenite for extraction. Processing will be conducted through a conventional wet gravity separation plant using spiral technology, which requires no chemicals, ensuring a low environmental impact. The UPMSP represents a high-value opportunity in the mineral sands sector, providing essential materials for industries such as ceramics, pigments, and titanium production.
